Finished Colorful Canine Head

Description

Will have eye makeup, but was just throwing this on real quik for basic pics.

So, yeah, theres that... on to gloves. Gotta finish feet too. Tail is long since done. Neck is a separate piece so tht when I roll my head, the neck fur dosnt go everywhere. I like the effect : )

Some people, i think, will complain about the large eye-holes- I see this once in a while on the kinds of heads I make... let me explain something; Light from your surroundings needs to be able to hit your eyes or the masks eyes will look like dark pits of hell. Close fitting masks, that use the use-your-own-eyes method, with small eye-holes, will still cast a lot of shadow on your eyes wich will deaden the liveliness of the face by... tons. If you cant see the eyes, it looks dead and it looks awful. By giving more space around the eyes, you have a lot more light that is able to hit that area. Its a basic rule of theater that when you do stage makeup you always, always always, unless the character is supposed to have a cirtain look about them that goes against this rule- emphasize the eyes. I use the same rule here.

Uh, incidently, this kind of head would run about $750 on a commission basis. TONS of added on hair, super detailed mouth... yeah, this was a labor of love, this one.

I love how you cut out eye holes. It looks much easier to see out of. And what's more realistic that actual eyes? : ) I love your method.
