I totally dig these paws. Gorgeous! I imagine it would be pretty difficult to create gloves that are easily recognizable as a lion's paws while still maintaining the functionality of a human hand... but you've done it. Marvelous work you've got, here! I hope that someday I'll be able to create costume pieces of this caliber.

Yeah that's kinda rude. Artsquish is the creator of this particular design/style so you could have at least had the courtesy to have asked first.

Well no, its not that. I dont own ...gloves... who can own gloves? No, its being told my stuff is really nice, then in the same sentance being told they're going to show it to someone else makeing their suit... its rude to me as a maker just... because dude... think about it? and its rude to whoever his maker is, because its basically telling them whatever they have already done isnt good or is assumeing they arent capable of figureing out something good on their own OR that their style isnt appreciated.

... I cant stop people from doing this, but um... its pretty impolite.

I dont understand how it was rude to you... I have already fully paid off someone who is making my suit... It's an idea I admire and see the greatness in it, and it's something that I want.
Any artist who doesn't see room for improvement in their work is hardly an artist at all. We learn from everything around us and no two people think alike.
I really did not mean for it to come off as impolite, more as a compliment but I understand how/why you took it that way. In the future I will be more careful with my wording choice.

I would take it as a compliment. The fact that you moved the claws to have better articulation. I am not asking her to recreate this piece what so ever, but ideas that improve articulation and grip while in fursuit gloves is something I appreciate and want.
These ideas you are putting out there are being shared with the community whether that was their original intent or not...
I think it's kinda still to ask someone if you can take an idea of something that has already existed and no one has a patient or distinct claim to and share that idea with someone who may not have seen it themselves.

Didn't you start by taking things you saw by other artists and trying to recreate them? Involving your own style and knowledge? That's what I was trying to aim for, I wasn't trying to be rude.

Goodnesss. Internet takes away a lot from conversation :[
I'm glad you are not mad.. That is very important to me as I really respect you as an artist and I often show your work to people when I am explaining fursuits and such.

I was shy when I started larping- but people are freindly and you can learn to get over it pretty fast. We're running friday if you are interested= a good chunk of the game is furries actually, Azrealis, caninehybrid, some others. Or if you are interested, there is a boffer larp- kindof standard high-fantasy, called 'Alliance' starting up next month- its a once a month thing.

It was the way you phrased it- I know you werent being malicious. Just please be aware that how you phrase things does matter and does have an effect on how your statement comes off to people. It did come off as "hey this is great, Im going to tell my freind to do it this way."

And Im not saying you are taking any patent. There is none. But there is skill, and there is technique, and when you say something to that tune as you did, where it sounds as though you are going to ask someone to try and match exactly as I have done, like its nothing, it is kindof insulting as it implies its that simple. Weather thats what you intended or not.

To be honest tho?...no. I did not start by trying to recreate what other artists did. I saw what other artists did, and I learned the techniques used to do them, and made things how I wanted them. Its the difference between traceing someones work (trying to copy, usually not well, and not haveing an understanding of the underlying mechanics) and going to the same school your peers and elders did, and learning the things they did, then going your own way.
